Real World Data, Virtual Representation with Real Time Asset Tracking

Gain unparalleled insight into the status and condition of your organization’s fixed and mobile assets with Visual Asset Manager’s new Geo-Fence Zone feature!

A Geo-Fence Zone is a virtual perimeter for real-world geographic areas.

A Geo-Fence Zone can be dynamically generated—as in a radius around a point location; or a Geo-Fence Zone can be a predefined set of boundaries.

Visual Asset Manager uses the Geo-Fence Zone feature to create a record designed to track asset or employee movement in relation to the virtual perimeter. The Geo-Fence Zone sets geographic boundaries for fixed and mobile assets that generate data describing your assets and employees as they move either in or out of the Geo-Fence Zone.

  • Reconciles vehicles, assets and employees through “street-view” floor plans

Fixed and Mobile Asset Security with Geo-Fence Zones and RFID Tags

  • Visual Asset Manager will alert you if an asset has been moved outside of the Geo-Fence’s boundaries.
  • Receive alerts as soon as an asset with an enabled RFID tag has crossed the Geo-Fence Zone.
  • This information is vital in preventing theft and tracking stolen equipment.

Creating a GeoFence Zone is simple and intuitive

Why organizations need GeoFences:

Through the use of a security perimeter called an Access Zone, the Geo-Fence Zone can track assets and employees with RFID tags. This allows administrators to digitally mark on the map which assets and employees that do not belong in the zone

Track your personnel and assets in six easy steps:

  1. To create a new GeoFence open the “Admin” menu and select “Manage Zones”
  2. Once you’re in “Manage Zones” click the “Add New Record” button on the top left of the screen.
  3. Next, select a “Site” and “Plan” from the respective drop-down menus. It is important to note that GeoFence Zones can only be placed on Google Maps floor plans. If a non-Google Maps floor plan is selected, the “Use Map” button will be grayed out and inaccessible.
  4. Next, complete the fields for “Zone name” and “Zone description,” then select the desired color for the border of the GeoFence .
  5. After you have done this select the “Use Map” box, then click the “Select Start Point” button.
  6. Clicking the “Select Start Point” button will activate an interactive Google Map. Navigate the map and determine where you would like the GeoFence to start, and then click the mouse on that location. You can visually scroll the screen, browse the map or type in an exact address in the address field at the bottom of the map, then click “Go” to search for that address. Click on the blue peg that appears. This will show the location’s latitude and longitude. If satisfied, click the “select” button at the button of the Google Map screen.
