A Strategic Asset Management Framework

A Strategic Asset Management Framework is a combined set of tools to pull together asset management data from a diverse set of databases and legacy data. Its purpose is to connect the value of the assets under management to a competitive advantage for the owner by using key performance indicators to focus on revenue generated per dollar of asset investment. This white paper describes our implementation of this framework within a virtual server appliance.

The result is a means of implementing industry standard data in a canonical manner, within a federated data model, providing the user with the ability to make business intelligence decisions and measure those decisions with key performance indicators. The use of this framework will be illustrated with an example of a successful IT Asset retirement as well as an overview of the problem with creating virtual servers, which if successful, can help to cut an overhead expenditure in half. Finally, we illustrate how this appliance transforms Fleet Management to Fleet Intelligence in order to reduce the high cost of fuel consumption, as well as address other maintenance issues.
